Are you ready for the beach this summer? Maybe you have already been there and really did not want to leave. Well, I feel the same way and my suggestion to you is that you just bring a bit of the beach home with you to your bedroom. Our bedrooms are our own little sanctuary. Not many visitors will even see our bedroom so that gives us the opportunity to design our bedroom around our very own likes and wishes rather than a design to mostly please our guests. If your likes and wishes revolve around glistening white sand, aquatic blue salty water, tropical sea creatures and the soothing roar of the ocean then a beach theme bedroom may be ideal for you.
A few easy ways to get started out on creating your beach theme bedroom is to select beach style beds, bedding and similar decor. These items will basically blend together to build your entire look. Beach style beds are usually beds of either wrought iron or wood and are white, egg shell, or off white in color. Some are even a soft coral color. You can use cottage style bedroom furniture or wicker pieces. Usually lots of white furniture is typically put in place.
Canopy beds are excellent choices for beach style beds as they create a breezy and romantic feel. You can use canopies that are either sheer or mosquito netting to add to the outdoors feel. There are also ornamental bed choices with shell designs engraved in them which are very creative choices. Beach theme bedroom bedding really adds to the day at the beach vibe in your bedroom. There are many styles you can chose from but I would recommend using colors such as mixes of light blues, corals, pinks and sandy colors. Decorative bedding such as styles with seahorses, shells, tropical fish or just elegant sand colored bedding are wonderful choices. It all depends on if you are creating your room for an adult or a child.
Last but most certainly not least, top it all off with beach theme decor. Decor such as beach related wall art, lamps in beach related colors, soft blue walls, sandy white trim, sea shells and other beach style decor will add to the beauty of the room and finish the effect that you desire. If you are creative, you can even style some of your decor on your own with sea shells that you have picked up from the beach on vacation. These items will not only add to your beach theme bedroom but will have sentimental value.
